Congratulations on your 20th Anniversary

A milestone received and appreciated by many families such as ours.

We were fortunate enough to be given a week at Manorbier by the charity, which was fantastic and gave us some quality time together when Carl was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in April 2002.

Just to spend time together in a “home from home” environment is such a wonderful campsite was welcome respite during a very tough time for all of us.

We still talk about what a good time we had and how much we would love to return in the future!

Unfortunately, since we last communicated Carl re-lapsed in March 2008, just after his 10th Birthday, some 3 ½ years after finishing treatment. Just as life was getting good again, we all had to deal with his illness once again.

Carl received his high dose re-lapse treatment, followed by a Bone Marrow Transplant at Great Ormond street hospital in July last year, for which he had to stay in isolation for just under 10 weeks.

Fortunately the transplant was successful and he is recovering really well – we are all so proud of the way he has conducted himself over the past year in what must have been an extremely frightening time for him – it was for us as parents.

We are now looking forward to returning to “normality” over the coming months and years, and watching him enjoy life.

Keep up the fantastic work you all do – and here’s to the next 20 years!!!
